What they think about Video Interviewing
The Babylon App connects patients with Doctors via video without the need to book an appointment at the GP’s office. We started to use video interviewing to screen and source the best doctors. The successful candidates/doctors will be using Babylon to consult and treat patients through video. Video interviewing is a great tool for our employer branding and bolsters our brand identity when we try to hire the best doctors in the world.
Video interviewing has allowed us to shortlist our candidates faster than Skype interviews. It removes the hassle of scheduling and thus allows us to screen more candidates in less time, and ultimately this helps improve the quality of hire for us.
The Challenges
What are your biggest challenges when recruiting the best doctors and how has video interviewing helped to overcome them?
Biggest challenge in finding Doctors was checking they are tech-savvy so Jobatar allows us to check this before hand so it is a self-selective process and very important criteria when hiring Doctors who start using babylon App.
How many interviews did you schedule via Skype per week/month?
We used to have 30 minute long phone interviews, followed by 30 minute long Skype interviews which took us one hour in total to screen one candidate. We used to screen around 10 candidates per week. Today we are using Jobatar one-way interviews and it helps us to select the best candidates to two-way interviews directly from Jobatar. Instead of 10, we now invite 5 best candidates to second round interviews.
How many doctors make it through your hiring process?
Just 1 in 100 doctors make it through our tough hiring process, so the patients always get high quality healthcare wherever they are using Babylon App. It is very important for us to make sure the doctors we are onboarding are the best.

Our doctors team-up with advanced artificial intelligence technology to give patients the complete healthcare experience they deserve. With Babylon app patients can easily arrange GP consultations with registered professionals, straight from their phone. This is also why we decided to start hiring doctors via Jobatar video interviewing, to make sure they understand Babylon's concept early on, already during the hiring process. We have received good feedback from candidates who often have never done this before. It shows us as a hi-tech, very different company and helps us to stand out among competitors.
